Data Sharing Platform for Freight Flow Connectivity & Visibility


Mac McCall is a senior research associate in the Division of Data and Analytics and program area lead for the Dock to Door (D2D) Data Sharing Platform (DSP) program. He brings over a decade of experience in data integration and analytics with VTTI. During his tenure at VTTI Mac has collaborated extensively with multiple public and private sponsors to answer a wide range of questions pertaining to multiple vehicle types and transportation modalities. Mac is looking forward to leveraging his experience in managing complex and data-driven technical projects to the design and deployment of the D2D DSP.

Mac holds a master’s degree in human factors from the University of South Dakota and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Tech University. His dedication to research and technology that is both useful and user-friendly is evident in his work spanning motorcycle research, light vehicle technologies, and now the D2D Data Sharing Platform. Mac firmly believes that technology and research must meet both usability and utility criteria to achieve their maximum impact. Mac’s education, training, and experience have provided him with a solid background across a variety of technologies and data sources that he will apply to his ongoing research and outreach efforts, particularly through the D2D Data Sharing Platform program.
